The Final Blog (for now)

And now, the end is near

And so I face the final coconut

My friend, I'll make it clear

I'll state my case, because I’m a good pup

I've lived a year that's full

I traveled most every shore and bay

And more, much more

I did it, I did it the Zuka way

Regrets, I've had a few

Ate some things, I shouldn’t mention

I did what I had to do

And ate them down, without inspection

I enjoyed each day

Step by step out by Salt Bay

And as you know,

I did it the Zuka way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew

And through it all, whenever there was doubt

I just kept chewing or spit it out

I faced it all, chewed one more ball

And did it the Zuka way

I've loved, laughed and cried

I had my fill, my share of losing

And now, as the tears subside

I find that it's all so amusing

And to think I did all that

And may I say, not in a shy way

No, no, not me

I did it the Zuka way

For what is a dog, what has he got?

If not his family, then he has naught

I’ve let you pet me, whenever you feel

And let you feed me meal after meal

That record shows I took all the love

And did it the Zuka way.

**With apologies to Frank Sinatra. He sang it his way. I sang it my way.~Zuka
