Hi. Remember me? It’s been a while. I was gearing up to finish telling you all about my humans’ time in Puerto Rico, but then they went on an adventure to the States and took their computer with them. Rude. How am I supposed to blog without a computer? Finally, they've returned to the island, and my paws can flow freely on the keys again. Let me finish telling you about their Puerto Rico trip, then it's back to blogging about St. Croix!

As I reflected on the stories my humans told me about Puerto Rico, it dawned on me that an awful lot of the things they shared about started with the letter “P.” Plaza. Playa. Paleta. Parrot. Ping Pong. Piña Colada. Pool. Pool. (No, that’s not a typo...they talked about pool twice. Evidently, the same word means two different things in the English language. So confusing!! Sometimes I wish humans could just bark with clarity.) Anyway, here are the greatest hits of “P” things from Puerto Rico (in no particular order).

Ping Pong

The fam enjoyed a few lighthearted games of ping pong every day. I wish I could play, but sadly I cannot (with the paws and all).

Paleta

My humans got to try this yummy thing called a paleta. It’s kind of like a popsicle that you can dip in chocolate and cover with toppings... or just eat plain! Can you imagine a paleta covered in dog treats?! Yum.

Plaza

I’m pretty sure I already blogged about this, but Plaza Las Américas was just as pawesome as they remembered. Although, they STILL didn’t leave enough time to adequately take in the mall in all its glory. Maybe a third trip’s the charm?

Playa

Beach days? Yes please! Even though my family didn’t spend too much time at the beach, they did stop at one and saw an iguana big enough to feed even the Newfies! They named the iguana Persephone (with a capital P).

Parrot

On my humans’ last day in Puerto Rico, right before leaving their hotel, my human dad spotted a parrot! There was a keeper taking it around to say hello to everybody. My humans even got to hold the parrot. They said it felt a little scaly when it climbed around on their arms!

Piña Coladas

Ahhhh the taste of the islands! My humans enjoyed some vacation Piña Coladas that were creamy, flavorful, and even adorned with a cherry and slice of pineapple.

Pool

Slides. Lazy river. Waterfalls. The hotel pools had it all! My humans especially loved the tube slide because they could ride doubles...that means two people per tube. The steep slide seemed scary to me, but they raved about it. And the lazy river? Relaxing at times, wild at times, but always fun.

Pool (Billiards)

While my humans were telling me about their trip, I got a bit confused because they used the word “pool” in two very different ways. So, I did my research and learned about pool as in billiards. I’d love to play sometime, but I fear I’d get too excited and accidentally whack all the balls with my tail.

Evidently, they also did things that don’t start with a “P.” But no matter what letter the activity started with, they were keenly aware of how blessed they were to share those adventures together. Speaking of adventures together...we’ve only got about a month left in St. Croix before we need to say goodbye to this beautiful island for now. We hope to make the most of it. Stay tuned for our last couple blogs!
