Follow Your Nose to The Bistro

If you’re feeling hungry, I have just the place for you!

I want to tell you about one of my favorite little spots to grab some grub on island. Say hello to The Bistro. This lovely café sits right next to Undercover Books (the bookstore I told you about in a previous post). Sometimes it’s hard for me to choose which I like more… bistro or books… books or bistro…

I’m learning it’s best in life to move away from either/or thinking and become a both/and kind of pup. So, in the spirit of that… I suppose the correct answer is bistro and books. Because good eats + good books = goodness all around.

We enjoy the Bistro as a family. We enjoy the Bistro with friends. All around, it’s just a tasty time. The Bistro has all kinds of delicious things — sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and sweets (and probably some things that don’t start with “s” as well). Homemade chips are one of my personal favorites. And the free smells are the best! Every time I walk by and catch a whiff, my mouth starts to water (though, if I’m honest, I’m usually already drooling a little). My human brother Elijah’s go-to sandwich these days is the Asiago Roast Beef. My human sister Penelope’s favorite is the Avocado sandwich on a croissant. The menu is extensive, with plenty of tasty options waiting to be explored.

And as if the food wasn’t enough… there’s wildlife to enjoy! Chickens and tiny chicks wander about, and cats and kittens make appearances. Despite my natural instinct to chase small creatures, believe it or not, the Bistro food is so good I’m not even tempted. I am laser focused on those homemade chips.

If you ever find yourself on the east end of the island, hungry, and hoping for something delightful… follow your nose to The Bisto. Even the cats approve!
