Take Paws Under the Stars.

It’s a beautiful thing when the busyness of the day settles and the stars come out. Before bed, my humans and I head outside just to enjoy the night sky—the plants glowing in the moonlight, the stars that flicker and fly, the Milky Way floating above us, and the clouds slowly drifting away.

There’s something peaceful about being out in the night, slowing down and noticing all the beauty around me. I only wish someone could teach my sister, Kona, how to do that. She knows how to be outside after sunset, it's just the slow down part she lacks. That Newfie has no chill. We keep reminding her, Kona Baby, sometimes, you just need to take a deep breath and drink water. At least that’s what Jon Batiste says in his song “Drink Water.” Honestly, I think he might have written it just for Kona.

Still, the message is good for all of us. With that in mind, tonight, I think I'll linger outside for awhile, settle in under the stars, pause, take a deep breath, drink some water, and simply be where my paws are—grounded under the vast beauty of the St. Croix night sky.
