Puerto Rico: Plaza Las Américas in San Juan

Even though I didn’t go to Puerto Rico with the rest of my human family, they showed me tons of beautiful pictures and told me all about their adventure. They shared so many stories that I’ll need a few blog posts to cover everything — let’s just start with their first night.
After a super quick 18-minute flight (yes, eighteen minutes — that’s barely enough time to enjoy the in-flight entertainment), they were ready for a night out in San Juan. Naturally, the moment they stepped out of the airport, they went straight for food. I mean, who doesn’t love snackies? Plus, they had to get fueled up for the adventure ahead and dinner out was a perfect way to celebrate my sister's birthday.
After Penelope's birthday dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, they explored Plaza Las Américas — the biggest shopping mall in the entire Caribbean and the second largest in all of Latin America. We’re talking about three or four floors of stores to explore (whoa, that’s a mouth full – try to bark that sentence 10 times fast). Before hearing about it, I had never even imagined a mall that big! Actually, I’ve never really imagined a mall at all. We don’t have anything like that in St. Croix. On one paw, I’m a little jealous they got to go somewhere so fancy. On the other paw, I’m perfectly happy just hearing about it because I don’t really love crowded places. I’m not sure my humans love crowded places either, but they sure do get excited about shopping. They love hunting for sales, finding good deals, trying on clothes, sizing up shoes, and looking stylish.
Honestly, I don’t fully get it — why would they want to be confined by clothes and shoes? I don't know, maybe they wear those things because they don’t have beautiful, luscious fur all over their body like I do? Whatever the reason, I’m glad they enjoyed the mall. And maybe next time they’ll remember to bring me some tasty treats — it’s literally called a “doggie bag,” folks.

Looks so exciting!
